Proud
“We do everything we can to make the tastiest cheese where quality, animal welfare and sustainability come first. This way we make cheese of the highest quality in an artisanal way, each with a unique taste and smoothness. It is a huge recognition for our way of work and I am extremely proud of that. Our farmers and cows supply milk of the highest quality and our cheesemakers make the tastiest cheese with it,” says Wim Betten, CEO of CONO Kaasmakers.
The most prestigious cheese contest in the world
The World Championship Cheese Contest has been organized biennially since 1957 by the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association. This year there were over 3500 entries from all over the world. The competition is the oldest and the most prestigious in the world. Entries will be judged by a team of skilled technical judges from around the world. Assuming a maximum of 100 points will be deducted for various defects found by each judge. Defects are noted in terms of taste, body and texture, salt, color, finish. A Gold Medal, Silver Medal and Bronze Medal will be awarded to the three highest scoring entries in each class.
